Learn how to correctly install the 133mm straw and silicone piece in your frank green reusable cup. Step-by-step instructions with common mistakes to avoid.
Quick answer
To fit the Straw & Silicone Piece - 133mm in your frank green cup, first remove the old straw, then push the silicone piece onto the new straw until it clicks, and finally insert the straw into the lid.
Why the silicone piece matters
The silicone piece creates a seal between the straw and the lid. Without it, liquid can leak around the straw opening. The 133mm straw is designed for 16oz cups; using the wrong length may cause the straw to sit too high or too low.
Step-by-step installation
- Remove the old straw: Take the lid off your cup and pull out the old straw. If it's stuck, gently twist while pulling. Do not force it; check if the silicone piece is still attached to the old straw.
- Attach the silicone piece to the new straw: Slide the silicone piece onto the 133mm straw, pushing it up until it clicks into the groove near the top. The piece should sit flush. If it doesn't click, you may have the silicone piece upside down. The wider end goes toward the straw opening.
- Insert the straw into the lid: Push the assembled straw through the lid from the bottom. Ensure the silicone piece seals against the lid's inner ridge. Replace the lid on your cup. Test by tipping the cup slightly. If liquid seeps out, the silicone piece may not be seated correctly. Remove and reattach.
